'Hello Barbie Hologram' Gives Kids a New Way to Interact with Barbie

After Mattel launched its Talk to Me Barbie in the 90s, it followed up with the Hello Barbie in 2015—now, it is introducing the Hello Barbie Hologram at the New York Toy Fair.

Kids can use the phrase "Hello Barbie" to initiate a chat with the artificially intelligent doll, and her 2D projection will respond to commands, such as an action, revealing the weather conditions or setting an alarm. Barbie can even be asked to brush her own hair and choose her own outfits. In some of the demos at the Toy Fair, Barbie even danced and showed off a few yoga poses.

The Hello Barbie Hologram can also be used as a night light or a music player, making it not just a toy, but a handy multipurpose device in a child's bedroom.
