Hearter Allows You to Communicate Non-Verbally

Alejandro Delgado Charra has designed a heartbeat app that allows you to feel the heartbeat of fellow users next to your own.

The device, titled 'Hearter,' has made the 2014 short list for the Undesign Awards, a competition conceived by Swedish intimate lifestyle brand LELO. The brand challenges designers all over the world "to go back to design’s roots, to undesign something and conceptualize something original."

Hearter translates your heartbeats into the emotion you're feeling, and subsequently, the intentions or hidden desires behind them. The device is connected to a smartphone app that allows you to tune into the heartbeats of your friends and family. Charra explains, "I think that a relationship is centered on the tiny details like sharing late afternoon, holding hands or feeling the beats of each other's heart. With Hearter[,] I want these beats to reach everywhere."
