Lesley-Ann Daly, a graduate student of Central Saint Martins, created a line of health-tracking devices that use sound to send messages to its users.
Titled the 'Anthropomorphic Sensory Augmentation' collection, Lesley-Ann Daly includes gadgets that monitor the cardiovascular system, a toxicity evaluator and a nutrition tracker. Each is connected to what's called an auditory mediator, a device that allows users to place it on their ears like any other pair of headphones. With this, the health-tracking headphones work by increasing the quality of hearing for the user, giving them the opportunity to hear varying sound tones that communicate what's happening in the body.
As explained by Dezeen, the Anthropomorphic Sensory Augmentation collection was created to "question the current trend of augmenting our own bodies, and the use of technology to enhance our sensory perception of the world."
