Heads-up displays are slowly but surely entering the public consciousness, and are expected to eventually become standard pieces of equipment on many cars. However for those people who already have a car and want to take advantage of heads-up display technology, things are slightly more complicated.
To assuage such people's concerns, Iris developed this heads-up display system, a 720p laser projection unit that can be mounted on vehicles' existing visor brackets. The screen sits on top of the windshield, displaying data whilst still allowing a view of the street.
This heads-up display can be used in conjunction with a smartphone app for extra functionality. Currently the subject of an Indiegogo campaign, this heads-up display will add a level of convenience and functionality previously only seen in science-fiction movies, and is set to improve the driving experience and make it safer.
