Yinka Shonibare's Faceless Art

When I was an art student, I always struggled to get the mouth to look right. It didn’t matter if it was oil, water color, pastels or pencil. When it came to the mouth, I was never satisfied. Like da Vinci when painted the Mona Lisa, I bet he kept going back and redoing it over and over and over.

That’s why I love this art from Yinka Shonibare. He obviously can’t get the head right. Life lesson here: if you can’t get it perfectly right, screw it and move on. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Look at this guy, he’s got a portfolio as long as my arm, and he’s doing just fine.
