Scale-Like Tiles

Alberto Sanchez Creates a Bright Alternative for HARMONY by Peronda

The classic ceramic tile has just received an incredible update for HARMONY by Peronda. Although at first glance the difference may seem minute -- a sort of minimalist twist with a few vibrant accents of color -- yet upon closer inspection, it's clear there's much more to these tiles.

Dubbed Scales, HARMONY by Peronda's tile collection feature illuminated edges that create a striking optical illusion. They were designed by Alberto Sánchez of MUT Design. Design Milk writes, "Much like the vibrancy you see on fish scales as they slither under water, these uneven tiles appear to almost vibrate with the help of the electric colors added to two of the sides." It would be interesting to see them in person.
