Peasant Hat Lighting

The Hanoi Lamp by Federico Churba

If you don't know what I'm referring to when I compare the Hanoi Lamp to a peasant hat, just think about those sun hats that Asian farmers don for practical reasons and other people wear at the beach or when they're feeling particularly goofy.

Of course, the Hanoi Lamp was not actually inspired by this hat. Instead, Federico Churba, the designer, says it resembles a bowing person (something that's also very Asian). With it's wide, angled shade, it provides a warm spread of soft light.
