Handyman Beer Branding

Hodor Craft Beer Packaging was Designed to Be Solid Yet Basic in Structure

The standard approach to packaging bottles of booze would be to construct a cardboard caddy -- something quite different to what's been done for this handyman beer case. Karolis Stalnionis of Vilnius, Lithuania, was able to exercise a great amount of creative freedom through the development of this school graphic design project, so it was a prime opportunity for some outside-of-the-box thinking.

Cardboard was cast aside in favor of thin wooden panels, with three of these cut to craft a base and supportive spacers for the six-pack. To keep these components in place, a metal rod was stuck right through the middle, offering a logical point to attach a bar-style handle. Look closely at this part and you'll notice that it can function as a bottle opener. It seems that the tough and utilitarian design was inspired by a particular Game of Thrones character.
