Touch-Free Technology Systems

Sesame Enable is Opening the Door to Hands-Free Touchscreen Use

Touchscreens have changed the way we interact with technology, but for a wide number of people with disabilities, such as those suffering from paralysis, they are still inaccessible. Thanks to Sesame-Enable, the door to hands-free touchscreen use is being opened.

This technology empowers people to use touch enabled devices.  Using facial recognition algorithms, the software is able to discern face movements and translate those into on-screen ‘touches.' This technology has already found its way into an Android app, Sesame Reader.

Sesame Enable is also providing a development kit for those that want to build hands-free control into any app. This technology isn’t limited to people with medical challenges.  This can be used by anyone who can’t take their hands away from what they’re doing: surgeons, chefs, parents, mechanics.  Perhaps facial movements that are made in response to emotions could also be translated into commands that enable interactivity with others in ways that, until now, were not possible.
