Desi Disney Princess Looks

Hamel Patel Created Disney-Inspired Looks That Feature Indian Attire

Hamel Patel, a makeup artist and model who's based out of North Carolina, recently took to Instagram to share a series of Disney-inspired looks with her 34 thousand followers.

Instead of recreating the looks to show the princesses as they're presented in the classic cartoons, Patel adjusted aspects so that they would better represent Indian women. She explained her motivation behind this in an interview with POPSUGAR, in which she states, "I always wished I had a Desi princess to look up to while growing up, so I decided to take it into my own hands!"

Among the reinterpreted princess looks is Cinderella, Princess Aurora, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Snow White, Ariel, and Belle.
