The extra large premises might have had an overwhelming effect on its visitors, but Ryo Matsui Architects employed a few aesthetic tricks to influence the great open-plan spaces to make them more approachable.
The shopfront was built to take the shape of a two-story dwelling with a simple pitched roof. Clean lines define this form to reinforce the reference. What's more, the entire facade has been treated to curtain wall windows, providing full transparency into the wood-clad interior. Future and current clientele of the Hairdo Beauty Salon will get an honest and welcoming impression from the structure.
