The Growable Gowns are Made Entirely from Fungi

If you're a bride-to-be and you have a passion for taking care of the environment, these biodegradable wedding gowns, known as Growable Gowns, are made entirely from all-natural fungi and are simply breathtaking to look at.

Rather than spending $1,000 and up on a wedding dress you will most likely only wear once, these Growable Gowns are ecologically sustainable and equally as stunning. Erin Smith, a graduate from New York University, cleverly substitutes spools of fabric for fungi and bacteria in her collection of environmentally friendly wedding dresses. These gowns take about a week to grow and are made from a wearable plant mixture that contains mycelium mushrooms and tree mulch. The use of bacteria forms beautifully symmetrical patterns along the biodegradable gown that is 100% wearable. After your wedding day, you can use your gown as fertilizer in your garden.
