Apple Recived a Patent for Technology That Allows Group Selfies

Apple recently received a patent that will facilitate group selfies while each person in the photo is socially distant from the others in the photo. This feature would be able to create a 'synthetic group selfie,' that people can invite others to join. The feature would also be compatible with videos, either recorded or live-streamed. Additionally, any person in the photo would have the ability to put their image in the front.

Apple initially filed the group selfie patent in July of 2018, however with the recent social distancing orders, due to COVID-19, it may have accelerated the development of the function. However, Apple has not indicated when or if the feature will be released to the public.
