Group Project Designs a New BetterBin for New York City

New York City gets a sleek and more practical bin design for its public spaces with the help of industrial design studio Group Project. The studio created the winning design of the BetterBin competition hosted by the Department of Sanitation.

Now in creation, the main goal of the bin was to encourage better street hygiene with a more comfortable experience for sanitation workers. It reduces any overflow and restricts rodents. The disposal unit has a solid concrete material at the base foundation and is then lined with a flexible plastic with a lid that splits into two. Additionally, it also comes with better handles that aid more efficient lifting and emptying for a more streamlined experience.
