Carved Oyster Artwork

Artist Gregory Raymond Halili Makes Skulls from Natural Objects

Artist Gregory Raymond Halili has created art pieces from oyster shells, carving out the images of skulls in a lifelike manner. Extreme attention to detail was needed to finish these pieces, which Halili executed beautifully.

Other than scratching out the surface to create this final product, the artist also used paints as well to achieve the different levels of depth. He also made sure that everything was extremely detailed, so that when people look at the artwork it looks more like a fossilized human head than an oyster. While these pieces are more on the morose side of things, they are still an impressive rendition of the human form done in a distinct manner that's hard to achieve.
