So you want to do your part and help the world be a better, cleaner place. Your conscience is riding on your for contributing to global warming each time you crank over your gas-guzzler. You want to do the right thing, but you're just not willing to give up your beautiful car in the name of saving a few emissions. Forgive yourself for putting materialism before humanitarianism, because now you can have both. That's right, you can still zoom around town in a hot ride, there's no rule that says they have to look geeky.

The UK's Telegraph rounded up a list of the sexiest eco-friendly cars on the market. Check out their top picks:

Convertible: Audi A4 2.0 Tdi, £27,005, 44.1mpg.

Estate: Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion, around £19,000, 55.3mpg. On sale this winter.

Executive: BMW 530d SE, £34,635, 44.1mpg.

Luxury: BMW Hydrogen 7, £92,000, 15 miles per kg of hydrogen, 20.6mpg of petrol. Five examples will be leased out to UK customers this year.

MPV: Vauxhall Zafira 1.9CDTi120, from £17,250, 47.1mpg.

Saloon: Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI, from £13,585, 44.8mpg.

Small Hatchback: Honda Civic five-door 2.2CDTi, from £15,130, 53.3mpg.

Sports: Honda Insight hybrid, around £10,000 used, 83.1mpg.

Supercar: oh come on, the whole point about a supercar is that it destroys the planet. If pushed we will opt for Volkswagen's one-litre experimental car capable of 292mpg, and valued at £2 million.

Supermini: Volkswagen Bluemotion Polo, £11,900, 72mpg. On sale this summer.

SUV/4x4: Fiat Panda 1.2 4x4 £9,495, 42.8mpg.

Alternative fuel/electric: Honda Civic hybrid, £16,300, 61.4mpg.

Special mention to: Tesla/Lotus Elise, 250-mile range on full charge, around £60,000, on sale 2008.
