Available for Android users, the Google Maps Indoors app shows you how to get around large buildings like airports, transit stations, large retail stores and shopping malls.
Comprising map directories and detailed floor plans you can zoom in on as well as an icon that indicates where you are in relation to your destination, the Google Maps Indoors app also has the ability to move with you (within several meters) and tell you what floor you're on. This is an ingenious idea perfect for people who don't have time to consult -- or even find -- a building map directory.
The Google Maps Indoors app will soon be available at 60 public locations across the United States and Japan, including the San Francisco International Airport, the Mall of America and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Japan. What's more, you can add your own public floor plan to Google's website to help build the Google Maps Indoors directory.
