Franklin St. Studio Presents the Good Morning Glory Project

Vancouver-based design studio Franklin St. Studio launches the Good Morning Glory project that aims to 'tame' plants that it is named after. As a part of this experimental project, the studio harvested morning glory roots that from the area. From this, they work to train the vines through tying and winding techniques that are a part of a metal chair.

The gridded woven pattern makes up the main seating and the backrest. The flowers only last for one day once they open up under the sunlight. The leaves then can change into a source of food for insects -- the chair may not be functioning as a literal seat but it is a unique experiment to harness invasive plants and work towards preserving their species.
