Sotheby's is Auctioning a 1/25-Scale Model of an Iconic Ford Vehicle

For auto enthusiasts, the market for decor collectibles doesn't get more exciting than an authentic gold race car. Auctioned by Sotheby's, the object belongs to "a descendant of Henry Ford" and it depicts one of the company's most iconic racing automobiles. The model is about 7.25 x 3.25 x 1.5 inches and weighs about three pounds. The luxe and extravagant collectible is composed of two-toned 18-karat-gold, making the miniature auto a precious item with an authentic backstory and high-quality materials.

The gorgeous gold race car features a nice little detail on the license plate that makes it that much more valuable. It reads "Michigan Ford 1." This definitely brings its value up. Sotheby's has set the entry price a $24,000 USD and the bidding war closes on December 4th.
