Hamonic+Masson & Associés designed a luxurious gold building for student housing in the suburbs of Paris, rightfully called the 'Golden Cube Housing.'
The immaculate eight-storey project is able to accommodate 156 separate apartments by placing the units right beside one another and then separating them slightly in order to give each their own small balcony. The balconies are all covered in a gold aluminum that allows light to enter uninterrupted, with a thick mesh separating them, which allows for better communication while still providing a degree of privacy.
Each unit also has large sliding glass doors that work to this advantage as well, giving the apartments heaps of natural sunlight. The gold building stands out on the street not just for its eye-drawing color but also its interesting shape created by the differences in the balconies, making some jut out and some recede into the building.
