The Flow(t) glass lamp design created by Nao Tamura is inspired by the scenic beauty of the Venetian cityscape that is unlike any other landscape on Earth.
In order to capture the surreal serenity of a city half submerged below water, the designer gave each glass orb a dip-dyed effect using shades of aqua, teal and turquoise. Each glass vessel has its own individual shape, alternating in width and height which, when paired with the ombre shading technique, emulates the Venetian vista almost perfectly. As they delicately hang in the air, the lamps looks as though they are floating, an effect that is enhanced by the way the light dims towards the darker bottoms of the bulbs.
