Giveaway Beer Ads

Camden Town Brewery Created a "Drinkable" Ad with an Integrated QR Code

Camden Town Brewery created a beer ad that it claims is "the world’s first TV ad you can (kind of) drink" and with it, the brewery is giving away 45,000 beers. The Give ‘em Hells beer giveaway introduces a series of animated Camden Hells characters, who collectively agree that 2020 has been a bad year. To remedy this, the brewery included a QR code in its advert that can be scanned so that eligible individuals can claim a complimentary beer. Notably, the ad went live during the Uefa Champions League semi-finals, which was an intentional choice to capture the interest of the audience.

As Camden Town Brewery's head of brand marketing, Zoe Wulfsohn-Dunkley, told Campaign, "People might say that beer's not a huge deal, but we wanted to bring a smile to some faces and allow some people to share some beer and enjoy our brand world."
