Gigantic Flip Flop Advertisements

This Giant Billboard Delivers Its Message with a Real Kick

A giant billboard is usually pretty hard to ignore on its own, but this clever stunt makes it absolutely impossible to miss. A billboard was set up in chilly Chicago, promoting Arizona tourism. The ad itself depicted a bikini-clad woman lounging on a chair by the beach and it encouraged people to "kick off your shoes." The ad was posted above a parking lot and the real kicker is that two giant 16', 400 lbs flip flops were made to seem like they were literally slipped off by the woman.

The gargantuan shoes were set atop two cars, which bowed under the sheer weight of them. When it snowed for real in Chicago, the flip flops became snow-covered too, which only added to the effectiveness of the stunt. Anyone who's sick of winter weather will definitely get a real kick out of this clever marketing move.
