Photographer Gerwyn Davis is Behind This Hairy Portrait Series

Clever photographer Gerwyn Davis covered himself in hair for this bizarre self-portrait series (some of which is real and some of which is artificial). As far as self-portraits go, this series is extremely mysterious, since Davis never actually reveals his face.

In one shot Davis kneels and sports a plastic crown. He’s completely wrapped in one long Rapunzel-like braid of hair, so only his calves are visible. In another shot he’s covered his upper body in curly blonde hair, and holds up a bowl of yogurt and strawberries.

This peculiar self-portrait project is surreal, and visually intriguing. Each shot features Gerwyn Davis draped from head to toe in a different pile of hair, disguising his own appearance.
