CityLife was initially conceived in 2005, and it is expected to be fully completed in 2020. Once finished, it will be Milan's largest new civic space and public park since the opening of Parco Sempione in 1888. The area will include 1,000 homes, offices for more than 11,000 workers, a 42-acre park, and more. Generali Tower will house 3,900 of those workers and will be one of the visual touchpoints of the plan, so Zaha Hadid Architects thus put great care into creating a landmark worthy of that responsibility.
