Located outside of the Frank Crane sports arena in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island BC, the cute mushroom in the featured gallery makes a great piece of garden art. The blue rosettes of the Echeveria in the mushroom head play nicely with the Blue Oat Grass, Orange Osteospurmums, and coral geraniums, making the colors pop.
The garden girl (the last three pictures in the featured gallery) was made in a similar fashion using a chicken wire form stuffed with moss for the bodice. To create the skirt, an old tomato cage and wire basket were spray painted and placed over a hardy fuchsia in the garden. Once the fuchsia starts to reach it's full size, it will spill out forming a full living, blooming dress.
