The Gaku and Sawaru lamps, two new design concepts created by Japanese studio Nendo for FLOS, make use of modular and adjustable designs in order to mesh with any aesthetic. In and of themselves, the two lamps are simple and minimalist, but their composition can be adjusted in subtle ways to help them suit even the most maximally designed rooms.
The Gaku and Sawaru are both made from matte black aluminum, but their similarities end there. Gaku is housed within a square frame and attached via a cable, allowing the consumer to shift it around the outside of the frame into any orientation. Sawaru, on the other hand, is a minimal spotlight propped up by an identical cylinder. By rolling that lower cylinder inward or outward, one can adjust the angle of the beam.
