The GAIA Building Features a Smooth Design Without Any Corners

The GAIA building in Quito, Ecuador, takes advantage of the natural beauty of the region in its design. The building, which is mixed use commercial and residential, features organic and flowing lines that are completely free of corners on the exterior balcony sections.

The organic inspiration for the GAIA building comes from its location. Quito is known as one of the most naturally beautiful cities in the world, home to a lovely, temperate climate year round and nestled in between towering mountains on all sides. The name Gaia is itself a reference to the ancient pagan deity that was believed to have created the world.

The ground floor of the GAIA building is reserved for commercial space, and the next four floors are for offices. The top nine floors of the building are for residences.
