Schimmel & Schweikle's Latest Range Joins the Physical & the Digital

Janne Schimmel and Moreno Schweikle — a Dutch-German design duo, debut their new line of asymmetrical furniture, presenting a range of chromatic fuzzy chairs. For the silhouettes, the creatives looked toward organic shapes and the "archetypal minimalist furniture design" — both really dominant movements in the field.

Prior to bringing the concept to life, Schimmel & Schweikle produced a digital manifestation of each idea and the images was later "translated into a real object." A few distinct and colorful designs of fuzzy chairs are created in this way and the collection is playfully dubbed 'CrossFit.' For materials, Schimmel & Schweikle utilized car paint, as well as artificial fur. The juxtaposition of these surfaces also contributes to the overall appearance of the design duo's fuzzy chairs.
