No-Touch TV Remote Understands Motions

It is kind of hard for me to understand this futuristic, buttonless TV remote control concept that looks like a piece of slightly twisted metal with a vertical cavity.

This concept TV remote was designed by a Dutch student and the premise behind it is that you can control your TV without touching the remote. Instead, the maneuver is done through different manipulations of your fingers through the cavity. For instance, to change channels, you will have to flick a finger through the middle of the cavity and to turn off the TV, you will need to touch two fingers together in the middle of the same opening. Watch the video and it will become clear. I hope.
