Weetabix Now Features Fully Recyclable Packaging

The Weetabix Food Company has announced fully recyclable packaging for its cereal and On The Go drinks as part of its sustainability initiative, which comes two-years ahead of schedule. The move was initially projected for 2025 but has been achieved now across the aforementioned products, which will see all paper and plastic components easily recyclable from home. The plastic wrap can be recycled alongside soft plastics at many supermarkets in the UK.

Packaging Development Manager Mark Tyrell spoke on the next steps beyond the fully recyclable packaging saying, "The next step for us will be to further reduce the carbon footprint of our packaging, as contributing factor to Weetabix’s commitment to producing the first zero carbon box of cereal, and the wider ambition of operating as a net zero business by 2050."
