Iris-Scanning Smartphones

The Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G Smartphone Features Iris Scanning Security

Japan's Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G is a futuristic mobile innovation with the ability to scan its users' iris for mobile payments and phone security.

In collaboration with Japanese carrier NTT DOCOMO, the Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G is considered the first smartphone complete with iris-scanning technology. The iris scanner can be used to unlock the phone or authorize payments made through the mobile. When setting up the scanner, the user must look into two animated circles on the phone screen then wait a few seconds for the scan to process. This feature may be slower than the iPhone finger scan, but it is just as easy to use.

This one-of-a-kind smartphone is set to hit stores at the end of the month. However, it is a Japan exclusive and will not be sold outside of the country.
