The Unveiling of Frida Kahlo’s Wardrobe Excites the Artists Fans

Frida Kahlo’s wardrobe has finally been released to the public after years of being kept under wraps.

A style icon, the revolutionary Mexican Frida Kahlo was known for her surreal and distorted self portraits has been a modern influence on everything from art to design and fashion.

The "Appearances can be Deceiving" exhibition at Museo Frida Kahlo in Mexico City ran until end of 2013—but the buzz of Frida Kahlo’s wardrobe is still going strong.

Featuring 300 different items of her clothing, headpieces, jewelry and corsetry, the exhibition takes you up close to Kahlo’s flamboyant style. And if the late artist’s wardrobe wasn’t enough for her fans, some of the clothes exhibited still had her perfume and cigarette scent intact (and painting stains!) for a real authentic closeup.
