Just when you thought that skate culture was at its peak, The Freebord skateboard emerges onto the scene. A group of San Francisco-based skaters created the board because they felt to restricted with the movement of a regular skateboard. The Freebord acts more like a skateboard in the fact that it makes more fluid movements and it doesn't stick to a strict vertical line of travel.
The six-wheeled skateboard is fitted with central axis wheels that turn in every direction imaginable, so that the rider can mimic snowboarder moves: riding side-to-side, riding backwards and getting airborne for an extended period of time in comparison to skateboard tricks. Also like a snowboard, the Freebord is equipped with a pair of S2 bindings, which help keep the board attached to the rider's feet.
