Ephemeral Lighting Installations

(fos) by (fos) has a Cartoonish Appearance

(fos) by (fos) is the first art installation by the Spanish multidisciplinary design collective based in both Madrid and Barcelona. It is only appropriate that it is named after the studio (or perhaps its vice versa?). Whatever the case may be, the public art piece is entertainingly arresting.

A sort of graffiti-like work, (fos) by (fos) revolves around a painted outdoor space. It takes over the facade of the vegan restaurant Rayen at Lope de Vega street in Madrid, which has a light hanging over its doorway. To accentuate this fact, the collective has vertically and horizontally painted the wall, floor and other props yellow to look as though the light were much stronger than it is.
