'Play Food from the Future' Familiarizes Kids with Sustainable Food

The theme for the 2019 WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award, sustainable food, is playfully explored with 'Play Food from the Future,' a set of toys that aims to get kids familiar with sustainable sources of nourishment. The line of 3D-printed toys can be downloaded and created by anyone with access to a 3D printer. Some of the imaginative and futuristic toys that have been developed include the Algae Ball, the Mighty Bean and the Bug Mac, a burger made from high-protein insects.

While insects, algae and food waste are all likely to play a part in shaping the future of food, the aim of Play Food from the Future is to familiarize the next generation with the items that may very well end up on their plate in the years to come.
