Band-Honoring Brews

Folly Brewpub Created a Beer That Pays Tribute to the Tragically Hip

Toronto's Folly Brewpub recently created a special beer that pays tribute to the Tragically Hip. Over the past few months, the Tragically Hip have been playing in several Canadian cities as part of their final 'Man Machine Poem' tour. To culminate the end of the historic tour, this Toronto brewpub has created a special beer that celebrates the band's legacy.

The new one-off beer from Folly Brewpub is a Saison brewed with rose hips and Ontario ingredients such as Barn Owl malts and yeast from Escarpment Labs. The beer has been dubbed 'Courage,' after a song of the same name on the band's 1992 album 'Fully Completely.'

In addition to the new beer, Folly Brewpub will also be airing the broadcast of the Tragically Hip's final show in Kingston, Ontario. While the bar will not be charging admission for those who wish to watch the broadcast, it will be accepting donations for the Sunnybrook Hospital's Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
