The Small Followatch Face Rotates by Gravity Around a Larger Ring

Some may argue that the analog watch hasn't changed a great deal in generations. The Followatch is a unique new concept that was entered into the 2013 Red Dot Design Award competition, challenging the predictable look of the two-handed dial.

Together, Jeun Eun Seng, Yu Jaehoon, Kim Jin Hyck, Yeo Hwa Jeong and Lee Pyeong Deung came up with an exaggerated ring that dominates the wrist between its two black straps. The actual face of the chronograph, however, is a much smaller circle that sits within this round frame.

Featuring a dot and a line to indicate the hour, the inner part of the Followatch orbits around the inside edge of the hoop according to the wearer's position. It will constantly reorient itself to afford the most intelligible view of its numberless surface.
