Whimsical Writing Materials

Flora Stationery Supports College for Women in Eastern Europe

To call Flora Stationery "whimsy" doesn't quite encapsulate it all. For one, the designs are more than just delicate and quaint; the products look like water colors from a future and a past. But the present moment, its dramas, trials and beauties, is all over the mission of this socially aware business.

"The mission of Flora is to create a sustainable source of funding to support young women in need of assistance to attend a university in their home country," they write on their website on what they do. "Through distributing a portion of the profits from every sale, a young woman is supported for an entire semester of college tuition with just 25 journals."

The designs themselves were made by students in Kosovo. The two Summer 2014 style of journals, Roze and Blu, are comprised of the artwork of Besjana, a student. A new journal often arouses feelings of newness and creativity and these could be thoughtful gifts as well.
