Veja Releases the Fitz Roy Shoe Made of Ecological Materials

French footwear and accessories brand Veja has released the Fitz Roy shoe which is made of sustainable and ecological materials that can be used for hiking outdoors. The Fitz Roy shoe is made for Veja’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection and there are five available colors to choose from. These shoes are available in basalte black, full black, gravel nautico, gravel ice, and gravel pierre.

The specificities of materials that are used in the shoes are comprised of a combination of recycled and organic materials. The upper of the shoe is made of recycled polyester as well as Ricinus oil in Brazil and its outsole is equipped with a Rock-Plate, which is a horseshoe-shaped cushioning that is made from 53% sugarcane. As for the sole, it was made by both Veja and Italian footwear company Vibram who conducted research to make a functional sole with sustainable materials. The shoes are currently available and are priced at $245.
