Appliance-Style Extinguishers

The Fireguard Blends into Your Kitchen to Remain Ever-Ready

Fire extinguishers are often considered unsightly items, so the Fireguard was designed differently. While this sort of equipment is often tucked away in a cupboard or forgotten in a closet, Jon Grossman's concept version would be something you could comfortably leave out on your countertop.

The body of the flame retardant device appears to be modelled loosely on the contemporary electric kettle. It has a smooth and streamlined shell of white glossy material and a flattened handle that can be easily pulled out to activate the Fireguard. In the event of a controllable domestic blaze, just grasp the handgrip and press the small red button with your thumb to release the CO2 powder. A pair of removable canisters within the Fireguard enable you to simply refill the device as needed.
