The Fire Extinguisher with Balls is not just a figurative statement but also a literal description. It rethinks the traditional fire extinguisher by adding a utility belt akin to Batman's very own. But instead of being equipped with a variety of crime-fighting weapons, this 'utility belt' is made up of metal perforated balls filled with water.
Designed by Zhang Zhicheng, Bu Jia, Bao Haimo and Xu Kun, the Fire Extinguisher with Balls is meant to be able to deal with both small and big fires in specific ways. Instead of wasting a blast of foam on smaller flames, a person would roll one of the balls as though it were a grenade. Water would then 'explode' from the perforations, effectively dousing fire without making too much of a mess. Heat activates the discharge.
