This Subway Station Concept Art Features Iconic Film Characters

These design proposals by Austrian studio Madame Mohr have been given an extra splash of creativity with a series of iconic film characters featured throughout.

Submitted in a design competition for the upcoming 'U5' subway line in Vienna, each piece was given a specific set of famous film characters from the big screen in order to help invoke a certain emotion tied to their surroundings. Characters from films like 'Alice in Wonderland,' 'Star Wars,' 'Pulp Fiction,' The Big Lebowski' and more add an additional level of connection to the concepts being proposed.

As for the design aspects of the subway itself, the studio aimed to create a welcoming, people-specific and easy to understand vision for its proposal. Angular lights overhead help indicate the direction of incoming trains, an illuminated U is used above entrances for easy identification and either sky lights or artificial LED lighting helps remove the idea of being cut off from the above ground world.
