Fields of Memory is a Modern Holocaust Memorial

Fields of Memory is Jerusalem-based architecture firm SAYA's entry into a design competition for a Holocaust memorial in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Fields of Memory is an urban garden made out of "light stalks" that sing and dance in the wind.

The light stalks of Fields of Memory are designed to flicker and play the soft sounds of a flute when the breeze picks up. Unfortunately for SAYA, the design came in second place. Still, I'm sure there are plenty of other cities looking for a contemporary Holocaust memorial. Besides, would you really want to put something this classy along the Jersey shore?
