The Fields of Knowledge Campus Focuses on a Sense of Community

The Fields of Knowledge, a design submission for a new sustainable education campus in Ramat Efal, Israel, may looks like a typical series of structures at first, but upon careful inspection it becomes apparent that more thought has been put into its conception. Inspired by the memories of old agriculture fields in Ramat Efal, hence its name, the Fields of Knowledge campus weaves together exteriors and interiors for a rich and varied learning experience as well as a sense of community. It criticizes an existing plan to portion out the campus in three parts.

A collaborative effort between Amsterdam-based firm SHaGa Studio and Israeli design partners Auerbach Halevy Architects, the Fields of Knowledge campus was shortlisted from over 50 entries and awarded the second prize.
