Intricate Felt Artworks

This Artist Creates Felt Art by Intricately Layering Pieces of Fabric

Brazilian graphic designer Naima Almeida creates stunning felt artworks by layering fragments of soft fabric to form intricate designs. The artist uses this plush material to add a unique texture to each image.

All of the images are created with vibrant colors and multiple layers of felt to enhance the aesthetic. The felt artworks are then hung in box-like frames that make the image appear to be descending backwards into the wall.

Naima Almeida hand-cuts all of the pieces of felt to ensure each one is accurate and meets the artist's personal standards. This current collection is titled 'Tropicaliente,' which is part of a larger project titled 'Lhama.' Tropicaliente allows the artist to develop art compositions and work with a physical material opposed to online graphic design projects.
