Experimental Side Table Collections

The Fauna Collection by Da Mata Explores Alternative Furniture

The Fauna Collection is a set of side tables by Da Mata that goes beyond the conventional designs one normally sees on the market. He questions what objects could be used for this same purpose, and how to push the conventional boundaries of construction.

For example, for one side table he uses a tea kettle with a flat surface placed on top. While one would not normally think of combining these two items, they still serve the same purposes of a side table. Other designs include a stack of newspapers with a flat, circular object on top. Granted, this one does look slightly more precarious than the other designs. Overall Da Mata has taken a wide array of kitchen/household objects and turned them into fully functional side tables for everyone. Photo Credits: designboom, humbertodamata
