Molded Plastic Couture

Sang Yoon’s Exaggerated Plastic Pieces are Unique and Structured

Taking fashion to a whole new level, graduate fashion designer Sang Yoon at the Central Saint Martins showcased this novel new creation of molded plastic fashion accents in the form of cuffs and tubes in his recent fashion show.

The chunky and injection-molded garment pieces came in the shape of cuffs, tubes, armbands, oversized sleeves and belts, which he then added on to the existing floral ensembles he had picked before hand.

The designer created his cylindrical fashion accents using molded plastic and added the stiff, structured pieces to his more feminine and flowing outfits.

"I have explored personal interpretation with invention of plastic objects, creating sculpted form around the body working with pleats and weaving techniques that merge modern and futuristic looks," says Yoon.
