Orschel-Read's 'Mourning for Orlando'

Cutting edge fashions by luxury menswear designer Stefán Orschel-Read cross over many styles including Goth, Dandy, Punk, Geisha, and Leisure. Orschel-Read has also integrated numerous current high-fashion trends in this collection called 'Mourning for Orlando', inspired by Virginia Woolf's book Orlando.

The lavender 70's styled suit has low-waisted, bell-bottom 'slacks' with a wrap belt trimmed with an Orschel-Read signature - tassels. I thought that the jacket panels were in the air due to the jumping model (who is actually Orschel-Read himself), but they have been designed that way. In another version of the leisure suit the pant bottoms are tucked into a version of cowboy boots also designed by Orschel-Read.

The highlight of the collection has to be the gorgeous micro-waisted purple lined black floor length coat. I could actually see this piece, and the flared lavender coat/jacket, being worn by a female.

Other trends spotted in the collection are the ultra-high-waisted pant, heels for men, faux fur, and jewellery for men. There are so many superb details in 25 yr old Orschel-Read's work that the clothing becomes art in itself. Take some time to look the pieces over closely. the entire collection was photographed by the super talented, Peter Ashworth.
