For the 2016 Fall RTW season, Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott created a collection with depth opposed to his signature gimmicky creations. Inspired by the Bonfire of the Vanities, Scott produced 59 looks that make a beautiful statement.
While the Bonfire of the Vanities is a popular 80s novel, Scott took the title to mean something deeper. The Moschino Fall 2016 collection represents the actual bonfire of all things vain and decadent in Florence during 1497. Taking literal references, Scott made heavy use of the cigarette box theme as well as the frequent use of a match motif. Just like the book, this collection also showcases 80s style with a retro biker gang aesthetic alongside pouf dresses and distressed denim.
However, the real highlight of this Fall RTW collection is the line of evening looks that have been tattered to look like they had been saved from the flames.
